Legs up the wall - straddle


Benefits:
  • Increases hip mobility
  • Benefits the lymphatic system
  • Restorative qualities

Picture
Cues:
  • Start in legs up the wall
  • Bring your legs out wide resting them on the wall
  • ​You should feel a stretch through your inner thighs, but the intensity should be at a point where you can allow yourself to completely relax

Common Errors:
  • The stretch is too intense
Modifications:
  • You can place a bolster or a small foam yoga block under your low back
  • You can narrow the space between your legs

Cautions:
  • Hip pain
  • Back pain
Alternative Poses:
  • Legs up the wall
  • Butterfly legs up the wall
  • Reclined butterfly
  • Heart bed with butterfly legs
