Benefits:
  • Increases hip mobility

Cues:
  • Start in a seated position with both legs out in front of you
  • Inhale and externally rotate your left hip and place the your left foot in the right hand off of the ground
  • Slowly place your left foot to rest on the inside of the elbow joint
  • Bring your right forearm parallel to your left shin
  • Bring your left arm around the outside of the left knee resting your left knee on the inside of your left elbow
  • Bring your left forearm parallel to your left shin and interlace your fingers


Common Errors
  • The back is rounded
Modifications:
  • Hold the left foot in the right hand and/or hold the left knee with the left hand

Cautions:
  • Hip pain
  • Back pain
Alternative Poses:
  • Figure four
