constructive side stretch


Benefits:
  • Stretches the sides of the body
  • Restorative qualities

Cues:
  • Place the bolster at a 90° angle from your torso 
  • Then place your torso over the middle of the bolster with it the bottom of the ribs above the bolster and the hips at the bottom
  • Stack your legs one on top of the other
  • Allow the body to relax into a side flexion
  • You can have your hands overhead or at your side

Common Errors:
  • The bolster is either placed too high or low
Modifications:
  • You can place a cushion under your head for support
